This tropical forest covering 1,500 hectares, managed and protected by the Office National des Forêts, is the island’s green lung. Many waterways cross the region, like the Lézarde or the impressive Rivière-Blanche with its source on the slopes of the peaks of Le Carbet. In its meanderings you will find the natural site of Cœur-Bouliki, the largest forest area in Martinique. Wooden tables have been spread out under the foliage of the tall trees and offer a picnic location which is very sought after by Martiniquan families. The vegetation here is truly exceptional. The forests which surround Cœur-Bouliki form a special ecosystem. In the summer months, the hottest of the year, you can enjoy the freshness under the trees and bathe in the natural pools or place with the small rapids between the rocks.
