In François Bay lie small islands on sand banks, which can be reached by boat. The most well-known spot is "Joséphine's bathing pool". These high "white banks" are covered by just 1 metre of water. The name derives from the legend that it was Joséphine de Beauharnais's favourite place for bathing.
La Batelière beach offers you clear, emerald and turquoise sparkling water. There is a rock jetty to hold back the swell
This beach is one of the most popular - it's close to the town centre. For your safety there is a life guard station.
